Manny Coelho is the host and creator of The State I Am In, a podcast built on meaningful conversations with the people who make Alaska what it is. Born from a deep appreciation for the Last Frontier and the stories that shape life here, Manny created the show to go beyond the postcard version of Alaska and explore the real experiences of the people who call it home.
Through conversations with adventurers, scientists, artists, guides, community leaders, and everyday Alaskans, Manny brings curiosity, humility, and authenticity to every episode. His goal is simple: create space for honest dialogue that reveals the depth, grit, and character of life in Alaska.
Outside the podcast, Manny is a husband, father, military reservist, and community member who believes the most powerful stories often come from ordinary people living extraordinary lives. Whether discussing life in remote villages, exploring the science of Alaska’s landscapes, or sharing stories from those who work and play in the North, Manny approaches every conversation with the same mindset—listen first, learn something, and leave the audience with a deeper understanding of the place we call home.
Through The State I Am In, Manny hopes to help Alaskans see their home in a new light and give those outside the state a glimpse into the people and perspectives that truly define Alaska.
Keep North.
